LLP have extensive courtroom experience trying
both civil and criminal cases and handling all stages of pretrial
litigation.
Ms. Maier's practice includes handling a wide range of labor and
employment law cases, particularly those involving sexual harassment
and sex, age, race, and disability discrimination cases, as well
contract, wage and hour, and privacy cases arising in the workplace
setting.
Ms. Maier's practice also includes preventative and strategic employment
consulting on matters related to staffing, structural work environment
and specific disciplinary and related issues. She also counsels
corporations on making employment decisions that are legally tenable.
Ms. Maier advises employees on how to respond to probation and performance
improvement plans, and assists employees trying to make a change
in their work environment for professional or personal reasons.
Ms. Maier routinely reviews employment contracts and assists employees
in drafting of letters and internal communications to corporate
management.
Ms. Maier also coaches organizations on improving management
techniques, and speaks frequently at both private and public
organizations across the state. Ms. Maier writes advice articles on a
variety of legal topics. She is widely published in national and
state periodicals, including The Recorder,
The American Bar Association's Experience, Security Management,

Ms. Maier is a former public defender and has experience trying
criminal cases throughout the Bay Area. Her current criminal practice
ranges the gamut from serious felony cases to commonplace misdemeanor
case. She also specializes in domestic violence, juvenile, and mental
health related cases. Ms. Maier is a fluent Spanish-speaker.

completed the 2005 Ironman USA triathlon: swimming 2.4 miles, biking
112 miles, and running 26.2 miles in under 16 hours.
